Congratulations to MHMS Coach Jordan Hernandez on receiving the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches 3A Middle School Coach of the Year award!!! A prestigious honor and the only 3A Coach to receive it in the whole area. Hernandez's passion for student excellence goes unnoticed and is well deserved!!! MHMS Tennis Schedule

This Wednesday the Lady Wolves track team competed in the 28-3A District Meet. The varsity team came out with a 4th place team finish and the JB came home with a 5th place finish. The varsity team was led by district champ discus thrower Dakota San Miguel. She threw a school record 119'6'' extending the previous record that she held. Chloe Rodriguez was the district runner up in the 400m Dash. Top four finishers in their event advance to the Area Meet held next week in Jourdanton. The JV team was led by a 2nd place finish in the discus by Esmeralda Rodriguez and a 2nd place finish in the 400m dash by Charlize Morales. Carissa Moreno also finished 3rd in the 200m dash. This past Wednesday, April 3rd, the Wolves Track teams competed in the District 28-3A Track and Field Championships. Dorian Aranda, 10x District Champion in the last 2 years, led the Varsity Boys team to a 3rd place finish behind Hondo and Lytle. Aranda was this year's District Champion in the 100m dash, 200m dash, Triple Jump, Long Jump, and 4x100 meter relay. He also tied the school record of 22-8 1/2' in the long jump that has stood since 1984. Top four finishers in their event advance to the Area Meet held next week in Jourdanton. On the JV Boys side, Abel Trevino led the JV team to a DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP, Trevino was the District Champion in the Long Jump, Triple Jump, 4x100 relay, and 4x200 relay. Zachary Herrada was additionally the 110H District Champ. Future looks bright for Dilley Track as long as we can keep the kids locked in and ready. We're hoping that this District Championship for them will motivate them for the years to come! We will be competing in the 2024 District 27-28 3A Area Track & Field Championships on April 10, 2024.
