JOSE AQUILES ARANDA
I was born at Laredo Texas in 1972. I am the oldest of six brothers and four sisters. I have lived in Dilley most of my life. Elizabeth, my wife of 25 years, and I have three daughters and a son. My two oldest daughters have given us seven beautiful grandchildren, four girls, and three boys and counting. My siblings, children, and I have attended Dilley ISD and have all graduated from here. We are deeply rooted in this community as most of us have settled here.
I have thirty years experience in the air conditioning, heating, refrigeration, and electrical fields. I have learned from my employer's vast collective knowledge throughout these years and have prepared me for the responsibilities and tasks that are before me now.
I take great pride in maintaining our facilities to promote a healthy & safe environment for our employees, staff & students.
My main responsibilities include:
Facilities, Maintenance, Grounds and Custodian Supervisor/Director
DISD Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Coordinator
DISD Asbestos Designated Person (ADP)
Maintenance of facilities buildings
Maintaining facility fire alarm & fire extinguisher inspections
Maintaining and repairing in-house all facility electrical, air conditioning, heating, refrigeration, and plumbing systems
Communicating with outside contractors
Efficient ordering of facility supplies and custodian supplies in accordance with the school’s budget

Stewardship
DISD's buildings and grounds represent the District's largest asset and it is our job to ensure they are well maintained and to optimize their value over the longest possible time frame.
We will continually evaluate how and why we use certain products, vendors, and outside service providers to ensure that the District's resources are directed to those who provide the highest value over the long run.
We will ensure that a competitive purchasing process exists and to that end will attempt to have two or more products, vendors, and outside service providers in each category capable of meeting our needs.
